These were a LOT easier to install than I expected. I did end up having to do just a very little bit of filing, and then clamped the bushings in (with a soft
cotton rag over the back of the headstock to protect it). I really like the look and the tuners feel like a lot better quality than the OEM tuners.

Need your advice. This new Martin I got came with a set of bone bridge pins that the guy didn't install because they were slightly too large. What's
your opinion? Sand the pins to fit or ream the pin holes?

I've noticed that the tech questions have been kind of light lately, so here's a stumper:

I've noticed that a couple of vintage acoustics that I've purchased lately must have been owned by smokers. Any way of ridding them of the smell of
cigarettes?

Your suggestion for superglue on that loose fret worked like a charm...I got it properly aligned and it seems dead set now.

okay, well seems I spoke a little prematurely...it's sitting a bit too high and I can't get it down any farther (even with some very gentle hammer
taps)....fortunately, that doesn't become a problem until about the 13th fret and I'm rarely (if every) playing that high up the neck. So, I'll
still have to get it fixed, but this is a workable solution for now

Anyone have any experience installing these? I bought a set from Stew Mac to replace the cheap-o tuners that came on the Martin DSR, but they're unlike
any I've come across. The bushing for the faceplate seems to have a nut that's purely decorative. I'm wondering why they'd make them like
this or if I'm missing parts somewhere!

Intonation Question

Hello, I had a general question regarding intonation. How often should it be checked? When I used to play bass in a band, I would check intonation before
every show. It was usually spot on, but I didn't want to take a chance of being out of tune during a live show. Should it be checked religiously? Thanks
for the info... basstard

Hi Telemikester, I had a question about neck dive. I play bass and own an instrument notorious for poor balance and neck dive. Any advice on how to combat
this? I've tried wider leather straps and even went as far as relocating the strap buttons on the instrument. Very little improvement in both cases. Buy
a new bass? Haha! Thanks for the advice... basstard (my username, not you)
