Funny, but although I posted to this forum when it first began after seeing the invite on the UMGF, I overlooked this part.

Dave here; Kentucky Dave as I'm known by some, although I've lived in Northern California (mostly Humboldt) over half my life now. What can I say? I
started learning guitar 46 years ago, started making money in my first band 44 years ago, made a living with music as my primary income for about 3 decades,
sobered up (a byproduct of most of those three decades), sorta grew up and came to the Bay area for school and work here now. Still play music
(singer/songwriter; guitar; Dobro; mandolin; pedal steel; pretty much in that order) but don't beat my head against a wall trying to make a living at it.

Love Martin acoustic guitars and Fender electrics, although I seldom play electric these days.

Got a local band "Beargrass Creek" and we have fun.

Thanks for the forum!

Saying I was "close enough" to be considered in the greater Bay Area, Tri-cone invited me to participate in this cool new effort at establishing a
place for folks to share their passion for the guitar. So, thanks Tri-cone, I am happy to be here and I certainly recognize lots of handles from AGF (I post as
El Conquistador on AGF) and even APM. Even though I live down in Visalia, I did go to college at St.Mary's College of Moraga where I first really started
to play acoustic guitar in order to interest girls. While the girls part didn't work out very well, I did fall in love with the acoustic guitar and have
been playing ever since.

Just signed up after seeing the link on Craigslist. Looks like a great spot to hang out while I avoid doing the laundry and mowing the lawn. I'm living on
the Peninsula with my very supportive wife of 15 years and run my own mobile guitar and bass teaching business. It's been full-time for the last ten years
and has worked out well. I feel really blessed that my spouse likes what I do. She's much brighter than I and has been a big source of help in running my
biz!

I love most styles of music and that's reflected in what I play with my friends. But I especially love instrumentals, movie themes, surf music, Chet
Atkins, Jerry Reed, Jeff Beck to name a few. My favorite guitars are my nocaster strat and my Gretsch Streamliner G3150 with the cat's eye f-holes.

I hope I can contribute to the community. Gotta go do the f@$#%& laundry. C ya.

I've been doing repair & building guitars out of my home now, for close to 15 years. It keeps me sane! I just finished a string of Tele builds after
doing Strat clones for a long time. Acoustic's are my next hurdle & currently have a couple 'in the works' that should be completed hopefully
this summer.

Just dropping by for the 1st time. I'm semi-retired and play now a couple of nights a week - strictly 1950's-60's Chicago blues, mostly harp.
I've always kept life pretty simple - one guitar, one amp and one set of harps at a time, so it's fun to see what others are playing. I sold my 52
Gibson GA40 Les Paul model amp after 25 years and am using a 1948 Masco PA head with the original 1948 12" Jensen speakers in a new cabinet. Tube amp
guru Skip Simmons, in Dixon, rebuilt the amp and the tone is perfect for harp and slide guitar. I'm selling my '85 G&L Broadcaster guitar, in case
you're looking for a new toy - vintage Leo Fender 1950's tone, but too clean for me. My "new" guitar is a mid-60's Kawai - 3 pick-ups,
4-dials, 3-toggle switchs - some pretty funny Japanese craftsmanship but the perfect axe for playing slide - well worth it's $30 price tag in the 1966 (?)
