Wanted - Singer Guitarist for Americana Acoustic Group - Peninsula

Looking for a singer (a real singer, strong in ability for lead and harmony equally) who plays acoustic guitar well (strong in rhythm, decent or better in lead). If you also play mandolin, fiddle or Dobro that is a big plus (I sing & play guitar, mando, Dobro).

I'm looking for someone who likes and enjoys performing music with country and bluegrass flavor, both covers and original. You should have a good ear and not need to be spoon-fed parts. Good harmony will be provided when you're singing lead, but reciprocation is paramount. Same with instrumental backing. Speaking of which, quality instruments are part of the sound. Martins rule, but there are others... LOL!

A person of a number of years experience, both life experience and music experience, would be appreciated. Semi retired pro would be great. Not looking to perform every weekend or have any kind of hectic schedule, but would like to expand the steady once a month gig I now have to a few times a month...

Can I just say how immensely rewarding it is for a guy who plays 90% covers to have his two most requested songs be originals?

Looking for venues

Okay, right now, I'm booked 5-6 nights a week through June, however I'm really looking for some weeknight places that pay better. Currently I'm
averaging about $50/hour (some more, some less). I'd like to be making more, obviously and I'd also like to expand into other parts of the area.

Anyone got suggestions? I'm doing about 90% covers right now, but a wide, eclectic mix of artists. Eventually, I'm going to be doing more
originals...been in the studio and there seems to be some interest in the songs I've written so far. But I'm interested in restaurants and bars, not
nightclubs that are looking for all original acts.

Favorite Bay Area Guitarist?

So let's hear your favorite Bay Area guitarist, past and present. The caveat is they have to have lived (or still reside) in the Bay Area. There's a
few that come to mind for me . . Neil Young, Joan Baez and Carlos Santana being the most well-known, but I'm going to go with the late John Lee Hooker. Gotta love the Boogie Man!!
