for the famous (Eric Clapton) and not so famous. It provides a new appreciation for the workmanship that goes into building such a fine instrument. I had never

Here's one to add to your bedside reading list. Tim Brookes' "Guitar: An American Life". Brookes entwines two stories. One is the history of
guitar in American culture (it supplanted the ukelele as the primary instrument!). The other is the story of Rick Davis building Brookes his dream guitar
after Brookes' guitar was destroyed by baggage handlers.

For those of us who love guitar and have worked with luthiers, it is a great read.

Yep, I loved the Henderson book and was sorry to finish it and leave that messy little shop in Rugby. There were one or two things that I found upsetting that
I will not go into. Some have not read it yet and I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I'm going to loan it to some non-guitarists to see if they can
relate to it....

Re: Clapton's Guitar, I agree it's a good book for anyone interested in guitars and/or guitar-making, and Wayne Henderson is a great character. But
one caveat: don't expect Clapton to appear much in that book, his name is on the cover simply as a marketing tool. The book is not about Clapton's
guitar, as the cover would have you believe, it's only incidental to the story. Still, it's a pretty good read.

Yeah, I thought it was humorous that Wayne didn't really know who Eric Clapton was.

heard of Wayne Henderson before I started reading this book. Now, after doing a google search, mention of him is all over the internet, along with many vids at
youtube. Wayne's waiting list has been known to stretch out to 10 years! He doesn't accept a deposit, and he prices his guitars
much less than your typical Martin. It's bound to leave you longing for a Henderson guitar of your own . . trust me.
