Saw Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades perform at NAMM....all 80's covers. Brad Gillis sat in for an acoustic Sister Christian, too. Brad no so much the acoustic
guy LOL

hi bassstard,
you want to talk 80's rock? best show i've been to in the last 10 years was styx and reo spudbucket and .38 special at the cactus club in thousand oaks back in 2007. i grew up going to mostly metal shows at the cow palace (priest, ozzy, halen, dio). do you remember those days? what about day on the green? shithappens |

The Cactus Club show must of been a treat. Did you happen to see Kevin Cronin and Tommy Shaw on The Early Show a couple weeks back? They played an acoustic
set promoting their tour. I grew up listening to mostly "arena rock" bands such as Journey, Boston, Reo, Foreigner, Styx, Night Ranger. Brad Gillis
is a stud.

The Cactus Club? Don't follow the Early Show mainly because I'm not often home when it's airing, so I did miss that.
I actually had the opportunity to jam with Brad Gillis a few years back. Made me want to turn my guitar into a coffee table. What I found really funny is how many of those 80's rock gods live in Contra Costa. Every now and then, you'll be out and run into Brad or Tommy or someone like that out at a local bar. |

Wow, I didn't know that bit of information about Contra Costa. I wonder why that is? I bet they get a kick out of being recognized on the street.

Actually, I think they probably do because most people in CCC are completely oblivious to who they are!

hi basstard,
hell yeah brad gillis is a stud. i saw him in 1982 on tour for ozzy right filling in right after randy rhoads died, they tore the roof off of the long beach arena down in LA. it was rudy szarzo on bass, tommy aldridge on skins and brad backing slingin' his axe with the ozzman, can you think of a better quartet? i'm pretty sure the people in ccc are oblivious, that is why they like it there, they can remain anonymous. shithappens |
