Guyute . . assuming yours is the tube version and not the solidstate amp made between 1967 and 1969, here is what the guide says for the stock version:
Fender Pro Reverb 1965-1967 Blackface: $1900 - $2200 (Excellent Cond. High to Low)

wow, that's a lot more than I thought....I figure since it's not all original, probably half that is a more likely value. And yeah, mine's the
tube version.

Are you going to keep it or try to sell it?

I'm really torn, to be honest. While I don't currently play it because I don't even own an electric, I know that I'll experience seller's
remorse. It's got some sentimental value, but at the same time, it does deserve some stage time!
I'll probably be going back and forth for a while

Or . . you can buy an electric guitar to play through it. I recommend a Gretsch . . . they have the "feel" of an acoustic guitar, and are very cool
to play. I believe their motto is "that great Gretsch sound". It goes back to the roots of Rock 'n Roll . . Eddie Cochran, Duane Eddy, early
George Harrison.
Plus, I have one for sale/trade!

haha...gotta say, I'm not really a Gretsch kinda guy. A Strat or Tele is more my speed.
Also, I've been considering buying one of those $250 Danelectro baritones for a while now. There's a couple covers I do that would benefit from the bari. My main problem with playing electric is that the second I start thinking I want one, then I start considering all the stuff I need. Overdrive, delay, etc. I'm not in a band, just performing solo, and I've always really considered the acoustic a solo instrument and the electric a band instrument. |

Guyute wrote: Regarding the effects, I know what you mean, although I limited myself to an overdrive and a delay. You ever play a resonator? An old National is a great solo instrument, with a bit of volume to boot. |

Actually, I played one of Mike Dowling's Troubador models. Nice guitar, but not particularly suited to the kind of stuff I'm doing. They are kinda cool
though
