Has anyone had any experiences with the Peterson Strobe tuners (StroboFlip or StroboStomp)? Just curious, as they carry a hefty price tag.

I've got a Strobostomp and have used it long enough to say without a doubt that it's hard to use any other tuner now. My ear has gotten really used to
being in tune and when I tune with another tuner now, it just doesn't sound quite right.
Definitely worth the cash! |

I've heard the original Peterson Strobe tuners were excellent, but I've read mixed reviews regarding the StroboStomp . . not about its ability as a tuner, but more with it's build quality. I'm leaning towards the StroboFlip myself, which I'm thinking may be better for acoustic guitars. (Correct me if you think otherwise). |

I don't really know about the Stroboflip. If it's got a built-in mic, then yeah, it might be better. I have had some issues with the I/O jacks being
a little fussy, but nothing I couldn't deal with by tightening them. The Stomp is the best stage tuner I've used, hands down, no competition.
The "sweetened" tuning makes your guitar sound like it's supposed to, and that's what makes it for me. Even with dead strings, the thing has no problems getting me in perfect tune (which has been a problem with other tuners I've used). |

All right, Guyute, you convinced me. I ordered the StroboFlip today. Musictoyz has a 10% coupon good through June.
Besides being a hand model, you sure you don't work for Peterson, Guyute??

Tricone,
Be sure give us a review of the tuner when you get it. Looks like another cool gadget to have, but at $199.00 that thing better cook and clean too I use a couple of the common available clip-on tuners that pick up the
vibrations through the neck. They seem to work well enough for me, but I've always been curious to hear what an accurately tuned guitar really sounds
like. I've read that the guitar design makes it impossible to tune perfectly, something about temperaments? Stuff way over my head

Haha...I swear, I could. I also own their "BodyBeat" metronome. Really cool concept. Instead of the traditional click (which I find really
distracting), it sends a signal to a clip-on thing that "thumps" the beat on you. First metronome I've ever been able to deal with...although it
just shows me how off my sense of time is.
