Can't believe it's 3 months away and I'm already getting excited. I'm a geek.

Anyone who is anyone, of course! Also some of us who fall into the category of "Other."

Tricone,
Some friends of mine are going and said they got apretty good deal at the Hilton hotel on Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa. Within a mile or two of the festival. Gary |

If you need other recommendations of places to stay, hit me up. I live in Petaluma. In years past, I have actually hosted some travelers at my house, which
turned into late night wine and pickin' parties. I usually work one day at Kathy Wingert's booth. Sometimes, it is too expensive to wander
around.......

I've always just driven home afterwards (or in recent years, to my gig for that night)...I thought this was a Bay Area forum! ;)

Hmmm...odd. I've never had any traffic problems. But I always get there just a bit late and leave about an hour before they close up...

The traffic can get bad on the summer weekends in (1) the Novato Narrows, between Novato and Petaluma, and past Cotati. However, since the last HGF, they have
widened 101 through North Santa Rosa, which has reduced congestion. Mid morning and early evening are worst in the afternoon, with all the folks going/coming
to/from Wine Country and the coast.
As to people driving home or staying, yes it is the Bay Area, but most of the luthiers and artists all stay up there, and there are jams, parties and casual activities all night, every night. So, lots of people just make a weekend of it. I wonder if there is Stimulus Money available.......
