1981 (July 1981, in fact, serial number is UG) Rickenbacker 4003 bass in the Fire glo (red burst) finish. $1500
This is a great sounding Ric bass, has the two-piece pickguard which they did on early 4003's - i'm not sure why. it looks like the plastic is different on the two parts even. Anyway, the 4003 was supposed to be the 4001 made for roundwound strings.
This bass lived in California and New Mexico, and i'm guessing elevation and temperature are responsible for the checking in the finish. it's pretty interesting looking, certainly not a problem. check out the pictures...
all original parts, nothing changed. in original hardshell case.
i'm not much interested in low offers nor trades, unless you have a martin 000-28 or such...
