I was at Eric Schoenberg's store the other day, and this little all-hog guitar caught my eye. I have a thing for smallish all-mahogany guitars, so
naturally I was drawn to this little guitar's looks. (The picture at their website doesn't do it justice; it looks much better in person). It plays and sounds great. I also was pleasantly surprised with it's price tag. I've never owned
a Guild, but I'd certainly consider this.

Beware...anything you play in Eric's shop sounds amazing. I've played a few of these (they're the Chinese-made line) and they don't really
sound as great in other shops. Hell, if I ever recorded a purely acoustic instrumental CD, I'd want to record it in his shop

I too, like the looks of an all-Mahogany body...but it's the sound of this particular one that grabbed me, it does not disappoint. I had actually been looking for Martin 00-17 that they reissued a few years ago, but they're hard to come by & cost considerably more...so I settled for this little Guild. I did replace the plastic bridge pins w/ bone since the nut & saddle are already bone. The only complaint w/ these, is the thick Poly finish they put on them! I'll try & post some Pix of it! |

I did play that little Guild as much as the Martin that I ended up taking home with me. |
