Snake Oil Brand Strings?? |

Has anyone tried these (obscure) strings? They are getting rave reviews by some in the Collings forum. Great sound, and supposed to last significantly longer
than your average non-coated stringset.

Over the past couple of years I've bought strings from these folks. http://webstrings.com/ Price is definitely as cheap as you'll find anywhere, haven't found anything cheaper. I use the Memphis Electric and New york Jazz sets and find the tone quality and durability to be as good as D'Addario XL's. |

I wish I could use uncoated strings, but I play generally at least 5 nights a week and I'd basically be changing my strings every single day if I
didn't use coated. With coated, they die on me in about a week...so they're worth the price increase. Used to be every time I'd hear about these
new uncoated strings that last "significantly longer", it's been hype. I do however have hands made of hydrochloric acid.
As for vendors, I do like that if you buy from juststrings.com you can get single coated strings. Good for me since I tend to need to load up on the G's! |

Guyute wrote: Yeah, that is one good thing about JustStrings.com is that you can buy individual strings. Their variety of string types and brands is also outstanding. On my nylon string flamenco guitars, I wear out the wound basses much quicker than the monofilament trebles, so I have to load up multiple sets of wound bass strings. I buy my nylon strings through www.StringsbyMail.com They're specialty is classical and acoustic guitar strings and they also sell individual strings on some brands. |

As an aside, while my hands are made of hydrochloric acid, my fists are made of justice and fury
